Congress starts in

Dear colleagues,

The 4th year of Prague Endoscopy Days will be held on 22–23 February 2024 at the City Conference Centre in Prague. We are preparing an interesting programme with exceptional guests. The entire workshop with the exception of the nurses section will be held in English.

The first four invited guests will come from the United States of America. The inventor of the lumen-apposing stent Kenneth Binmoeller from San Francisco, as well as the great interventional endoscopist and one of the pioneers of "endoscopic hepatology" Michel Kahaleh from New Jersey, one of the most versatile American endoscopists Mouen Khashab from Baltimore and one of the most important bariatric endoscopists of today Christopher Thompson from Boston have confirmed their participation. This quartet will be completed by two guests from London - Darina Kohoutová, a specialist not only in Barrett's esophagus and endosonography, and Edward Despott, an expert in colorectal ESD and enteroscopy. Last but not least, the excellent Romanian endoscopist Marcel Tantau from Cluj has promised to participate.

International guests will be complemented by national "faculties" whose members are leading Czech or Slovak gastroenterologists, hepatologists and endoscopists.

The main topics will be bariatric endoscopy, endoscopic hepatology, different types of drainage using lumen-apposing stents, third-space endoscopy and gastrointestinal oncology. However, we will not forget basic endoscopic techniques such as Barrett's esophagus examination, proper performance of endoscopy in patients with idiopathic inflammatory bowel disease or less demanding medical procedures such as dilatation or standard endoscopic removal of flat lesions of the colon. We will also be happy to demonstrate hot technological innovations.

Live broadcasts will be held throughout the day on Thursday and until lunchtime on Friday. On Friday after lunch, there will be held “hands-on” courses in collaboration with all international guests. The programme will also include the Nurses Section and the Young Gastroenterologists Section.

We have decided to organize our workshop in a hybrid form, i.e. it will be possible to attend in person in Prague, and for those who cannot come to Prague, there will be the possibility of online access.

Apart from exceptional guests, we are also preparing an exceptional social evening, which will take place on the evening of 22 February at a very interesting venue.

Keep an eye on our website where we will be posting more information as we go along.

We will be delighted if you mark the date of the workshop in your calendars.

We look forward to seeing you in Prague.
